Demian Walton joins Velocity Legal as a Director

Velocity Legal is excited to announce the appointment of Demian Walton as a Director.

Demian specialises in Insolvency and Dispute Resolution. He has advised insolvency practitioners, directors, creditors, and businesses on the intricacies of insolvency for more than two decades. Demian has also strategically guided countless clients through high-stakes commercial disputes.

Demian's experience includes:

• representing the former tenants of Central Pier in their dispute with Development Victoria;
• acting for a creditor in a successful appeal to the Full Court of the Federal Court to set aside a deed of company arrangement;
• acting on behalf of investors in a failed forestry scheme in successfully resisting loan recovery proceedings brought by a major bank;
• substantial compensation for a franchisee in a case against a major retail franchisor for misleading and deceptive conduct;
• negotiating bank support for a personal insolvency agreement on behalf of a major property developer; and
• successfully defending and recovering costs for an accounting firm in a multi-million dollar professional negligence claim involving complex international tax structures.
