Everyone has up to $5,000 per year to spend on professional development. Whether it's a short course, a book relating to your career or something else, we're keen to invest in the continuous development of our team.
We want our team to feel great. That’s why we’ve designed a wellness program which features bi-monthly activities. This includes yoga, meditation, breathwork techniques, ergonomics… and everyone’s favourite, office massages.
We donate 1% of profit to charity each year. The charity is decided by staff. In the past we’ve selected The Cancer Council, The Smith Family, Good Shepherd and the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation. This year we’ve selected Dementia Australia. We also look for opportunities to support charities throughout the year (e.g. volunteering).
We understand that everyone is unique. Some people love working from home. Others hate it. Whichever camp you fall into, we will tailor an appropriate arrangement to help you to thrive.
We provide an impressive selection of breakfast items, fruit and snacks. Whether you're the kind of person who likes to start their day with granola, or prefers to snack in the afternoon; we've got you covered.
We have an annual retreat for our whole team (not just Directors). In the past we have gone to South Korea, Japan and Thailand. All accommodation, flights, team activities, transport, breakfasts, team lunches and dinners are paid for by VL.
We provide an extra week of annual leave to eligible staff each year. This is designed to ensure that our team are taking enough time off. These days can be spent doing whatever makes the biggest positive impact for you; whether that is going on holiday, volunteering or learning a new hobby.
We offer up to 14 weeks fully paid parental leave. We also pride ourselves on providing flexibility to parents returning to work after parental leave. We understand that juggling family life and work can be tough. So, we try to make the transition back to work as easy as possible.
Friday Cocktails, regular social activities, standing desks, barista quality coffee, Associate & Senior Associate catch ups, carefully tailored development plans ... We've run out of space, but you get the idea.

We do not offer a set graduate program. We recruit Law Graduates on an as-needs basis, so please keep an eye on the vacancies above for a Law Graduate listing. The same approach applies to our recruitment of law students for Law Clerk roles.
We welcome contact from recruiters with suitable candidates. Engagement is conditional on acceptance of our standard recruitment terms, which you can obtain by emailing office@velocitylegal.com.au.
